Recently I stumbled upon Jay 
Hernadez and his amazing work. He like many of us have read comics for a good while. Well his own art is fantastic so I commissioned him to do two pieces for me. One of my favorite heroes, and another of my favorite heroines. Well the second arrived today.
Many of us have our own favorites for various reasons; maybe a super power, a behavior, they way a character looks or acts. Well Jay put together six of my favorites.
1. Magick Something about Illyanna has always inspired me. She is a survivor, using powers that lesser people couldn't handle. I think she has to walk a fine line not to go bad, and does she ever love to skirt it.
1. Moonstar From such a simple power, but I think her true power is her force of will. She's gone through so much and yet still hasn't backed down even though she no longer has super powers.
1. Jubilee She saved Wolverine. She will always be in my favorites, even if she is a vampyre now.
1. Zealot Hundreds of years old, training multiple guilds of assassins, and yet she still defended her adopted planet. Woman's got skills and class.
1. Angela She got kicked off heaven's squad for being to bad ass. That's just cool.
1. Oracle Babara has always been cool, but I think she found her real calling as Oracle. I'm not looking forward to this DC reboot.
And those are my top six. I'm sure you all have your own for various reasons, these are mine.

I'd have to say that three of the six are in my top faves. Illyanna, Danielle, and Jubilation. The writers seemed to put extra care into developing their characters over the years (before the whole "Let's make the X-books more like the movie" syndrome hit) Illyanna won a space in my heart for being burdened with that much power for one who was just way too young to wield it. Like you said, she truly had to ride the edge of the fence to keep on the side of the angels. Moonstar quickly became my favorite since I first picked up a New Mutants book. I don't know if it was because of the illusions she used to create, or when they gave her the extra psionic powers and had them manifest as a bow and arrow (way cool), or even the fact that she was a Valkyrie. Maybe it was the fact that she was Native American and that I also have Native American blood flowing thru my veins that connected me with her. All I know is that I always did like her. Then there's Jubilee. My favorite X-femme of all time. She was my first ever comic crush. I just loved the idea of her having so much power but being afraid to use it fully so her mind had to create mental dampeners on it. I also wished that they would have developed her psionic powers a bit more. It's like they'd hint at them every so often, but never truly brought them to light. She was the fun loving spirit of the X-Men, but she had a serious side to her as well. There was just so much potential in her character that never had a chance to show. Now she's a vamp. I'm not too crazy about the idea, but I can't just turn away from her. She's my favorite mutant mallrat after all.
