**Update 12 Jan 2011**
The first entries have started to pour in, and they are looking good. Now I will not post any of the entries until 1 Feb 2011 for the voting to begin. I don't post any until then as to not give any unfair advantage, but you are free to post your entry up as you wish. Remember the real vote is only among the artists who enter, but a poll may be put up to gauge the public's feelings on the different pieces.
I'm glad everyone seems to be enjoying this contest! But there is still plenty of time for more entries so get yours in today. And please remember to send me a copy via email so I can post it up as well for the contest.

The call was put out and you answered. Given a choice of what you wanted to draw a Battle Scene with my superhero group the Fugitives was the definite winner. And so it shall be!
So what is required: You can draw a picture of one, two or all the Fugitives in battle with your OC's, with Zombies, with killer robots, with weird looking aliens, with almost anything. The loophole? Can't be a copyrighted or trademarked character from a major publishing firm such as DC, Marvel, Image, etc. So no pictures for the Fugitives fighting the Brotherhood, or A.I.M, or Hydra, or the Legion of Evil. Get the idea?
The Picture must have three people minimum. Could be one of my fugitives and two of yours, could be all my Fugitives vs one of yours, but the people in it must at least number three.
The Deadline? 31 Jan 2011
The Grand Prize? $100 to the victor!
How the winner will be decided? You have from today (1 Jan) until midnight on 31 January 2011 to submit your entries. I will then collect all the entries during the allotted entry time. I will then post all entries up in a journal on 1 February for voting in secret ballot. During that voting period the only people who can vote are the people that entered a picture. Entrants will send me their vote via note/email. Or they can even post their vote publicly on the Journal if they so chose. In fairness and good sportsmanship you will not be able to vote for your own entry. So no polls, only one vote per artist, and no voting for yourself. I won't even vote unless I need to break a tie. The results will be posted on 15 Feb.
Entries? I'll accept lines, colors, shades, ink, renders, cg, just about anything. Do your best as your competition are the ones voting for you.
Let The Contest Begin!!!

Is it Trans-phobic to not date a Transgender?
Recently the R&B singer Ginuwine was hailed as Trans-phobic after refusing a kiss a transgender woman and stating that he would not date a transgender woman. In the wake of this many articles and videos have been published on this. I recently saw a video in which transgender women called cisgender men 'weak' for not wanting to date them. But honestly I have to disagree with that assessment.
If a woman said no to a man who wanted to give her a kiss, she would be well in her right to say no, and no one would question that decision. What if that man was a transgender man? Would that woman be considered trans-phobic as well if she refused t

The Cold Heart of Hell - A new story project
So I am back in the grove. I have an idea for a new Star Trek story entitled The Cold Heart of Hell. The story revolves around the crew of the USS Kusanagi (NCC-65029), an Akira class starship. Having recently returned from battle the Kusanagi receives new crew and repairs. But the crew have to get their grips and dynamic down quickly as their mission is to patrol the far side of Cardassian space against the encroaching Breen Confederacy.

This war torn newly promoted Captain must lead a tired crew back into harm's way.

When the 'O' in your OC stands for Overpowered
I'm going to start this off with a Caveat that this is my personal opinion based around the type of writing I both read and write.
I have begun to notice a trend on many Original Characters, or 'OC's for short, appearing here in what I like to call the Deviant Art Comic Universe (DACU). What I'm talking about is Omega Shock Syndrome. Omega Level was a term first coined by Marvel Comics when talking about a few of their mutant characters that had near god like abilities. However the term quickly found its way into other comic books moving from Omega Level Mutant to Omega Level Character. Now here in the DACU we have started to routinely see c
